Fail again. Fail better.

Are we there yet? Altering the way you do something in an organisation takes some dedication. Changing how you are being and communicating with each other can seem like a long struggle up a treacherous mountain path.


It takes strong commitment from leaders and willingness to do the work from everyone involved. A foundation of understanding the reasons why and the benefits a new way brings provide a helpful rope. Without a clear vision of the destination, enthusiasm about soldiering on will start to vanish. And all of this is true in any life-change, too: your inner team needs to be on side - and it can be even stronger with some external support.

Sliding back to 'old ways' is particularly easy when things get busy. It's a good idea to have thought up-front about how to course correct when stress brings tunnel-vision.


But here, there's also another essential craft: to know that you won't always get it right. To forgive and learn instead of blame and judge. To shake off the mishaps and figure out how to do it a bit differently next time.
