Interesting to see McKinsey's overview of critical factors in 21st Century Leadership start out with the need for leaders to "have a clear understanding of what makes them tick" with a focus on mind, body and spirit. They continue with selflessness, openness, continuous learning through curiosity and humility.

Knowing yourself and being comfortable with who you are brings the true confidence that allows others to thrive and shine alongside you. Leadership is an enabling function as much, if not more, than a guiding one.

Fostering a culture built on openness, feedback, growth mindset and teamwork requires knowledge (and practice) throughout the organisation of how to communicate and collaborate well. It also calls for the confidence to include permission to fail when rapidly innovating and learning.

Do you need to inject these practices in your organisation? I can help.
