You don't 'have to'. Choose instead.

It’s nearly the weekend!

Are you happy and carefree, or burdened by things you’d say you ‘have to’ do?

Here’s good news!  You don’t ‘have to’ do anything.

There are no ‘musts’.

👩‍💼 Are you telling yourself you ‘have to’ work this weekend because the deadline is Monday?

🎉 That you ‘have to’ take your kids to that birthday party where you’d rather not be?

👩‍🌾 Perhaps you ‘have to’ get the garden ready for spring?

But you don’t. You could choose not to do it.

That choice might be more difficult, but it’s yours.

So why turn yourself into a victim with ‘have tos’, when you can be powerful in choosing?

👩‍💼 You’re choosing to work this weekend – perhaps because it’s important for you to deliver good work, or because it’s important to keep your job to provide for yourself or your loved ones. Your choice.

🎉 You’re choosing to take your kids to the birthday party – maybe because you love to see your children happy, or because you have promised your partner to do it, and that matters. Your choice.

👩‍🌾 You’re choosing to get the garden ready, because you want it to be beautiful when the sun finally comes out, or because you prefer to do that rather than having a discussion about why you didn’t. Your choice.

It might seem like semantics, but it's not. It’s a different perspective that can transform your experience. Not only that: it's true, isn’t it? We always have a choice, even when it doesn’t seem like it, or feel like it.

Replace your ‘have tos’ with your ‘reasons for doing’ and see what happens to you. If you've got 'have tos' you struggle to see as choices, start small. Do you 'have to' watch the next episode on Netflix?

Have a great weekend.
